Embrace This Space
Bayou Vermilion Preservation Association is committed to participating in Lafayette Consolidated Government’s “Embrace This Space” program. In 2019, BVPA adopted Little Beaver Park (boat landing). Adopting Little Beaver Park through the Embrace This Space program means BVPA is directly improving water quality and encouraging riverside recreation by conducting quarterly beautification events.

RES (Resource Environmental Solutions, LLC) and Lafayette Consolidated Government staff have partnered with us on many of these events to complete projects such as riverside vegetative plantings, dock and sidewalk cleaning, safety railing painting, mulching, and litter pickups.
Quarterly Clean Ups are held at Beaver Park to maintain the space. Community volunteers and UL Lafayette Big Event and Soul Camp volunteers have been integral to the success of this project.
