Since inception of BVPA, we have partnered with the Lafayette Garden Club with foundation of the BVPA and on the Cleanest City Competition by providing the cash awards for the student poster competition. They assist us each year at the Symposium by manning the registration table.

The TVFW executive director has a standing position on our board because they fund and manage our water quality testing. Teche-Vermilion Basins Project brings additional fresh surface water to the heart of Acadiana.

Acadiana Native Plant Project has partnered with BVPA with planting native plants in the watershed as those projects have developed. ANPP was a major partner in our Reviving Resilient Landscapes Project. We have had overlap on the boards for some years.

This partnership with the Louisiana Department of Agriculture & Forestry’s SWCDs started with Dr. Ernest Girouard who helped formalize the concept behind the Vermilion River Alliance. The districts have partnered with VRA ever since as well as participating in our Symposium.

We partner with Lafayette Consolidated Government’s Environmental Department on the Storm Drain Art Contest and the auction for student -painted rain barrels. LCG has a standing seat on the BVPA board.

We partner with UL Lafayette to bring student volunteers to Beaver Park to participate in service work to clean up and beautify the park during the UL Lafayette Big Event. BVPA is at frequent attender of the UL Lafayette Earth Day Celebration each year. BVPA’s has created a UL Student Board Member Seat for University Students. UL Lafayette has a standing seat on the BVPA board.

BVPA is a member of the LWF organization. We partner with them to bring ideas to the table about ways to improve water quality and environmental quality in the Teche Vermilion Watershed and help address other environmental concerns statewide.

The Bayou Vermilion District (BVD) has been a partner of BVPA….. Vermilionville has been the home of BVPA’s Annual State of the River and they graciously have let BVPA use their space for Monthly Board Meetings.
